After 3 days at Melia Zanzibar and a huge letdown, we headed to Dream of Zanzibar. Despite we arrived too early, they were kind enough to allow us to enjoy the main facilities and even give us the all inclusive bracelet in order to drink or eat something, which was a very nice gesture!
The beach is without any doubt the best beach I have seen in the whole island. Clean, with pristine and turquoise water and soft sand. The hotel staff worked very hard every morning to keep it clean and gather all the seaweed. There were not mosquitoes in the whole beach, and had many pleasant evenings there just relaxing or reading a book.
The resort has a lot of choices to have lunch or dinner, from African food, to American food, Japanese, German, Chinese or Italian, also an International buffet with great food quality and freshly made pasta. Unless other resorts, almost every item is included in the all inclusive package so you can enjoy a wide range of beers, cocktails, snacks, food and so on without extra charge.
Breakfasts were great and every dish was cooked well. We had lunch in almost every restaurant and were great. Special mention to the Sushi Bar with freshly made to order and delicious noodles and Shark Club (the chicken chapati sandwich with mango is superb!). For dinner, the food was delicious in every restaurant, except the Golden Bridge (the service was great but we did not enjoy the food as much as the other restaurants). At the evening there is a snack bar at the pool which offers chips and sandwiches (nice gesture!).
The service was great and efficient in every bar/restaurant. We even were once late to lunch since we went diving to Tumbatu (which is far from the resort) and they were kind enough to allow us to have lunch after 3.00 pm at the buffet. Thank you!
The pool was very nice and quiet, with no music, just silence.
Our suite had such a wonderful views of the beach and was so spacious. The bed was huge and comfortable.
Despite the resort is older than the Melia, we did enjoy Dream of Zanzibar much more in terms of food, all inclusive package, service and atmosphere. Moreover, the price we paid was very competitive, so for us, the Dream of Zanzibar is the perfect choice when in Zanzibar.
